Difference between WordPress.com and a self-hosted website

Don’t get confused between WordPress.com, where you can create an account and start blogging on their platform.

For people who want full control and ownership of their website, go to WordPress.org and download the CMS and load  it on your self-hosting website plan.

Although, your hosting service may well include an option to install WordPress without having to download the program (which makes it even easier).

Using a self hosted WordPress site means the world is open to you to use any theme or plugin you want.

So I recommend a self-hosted WordPress site to give you full ownership of your blog/website (no one can close it down – which can happen).
